A stereo widener for the bass channel. It locks the low end to mono and dead-centre, then widens everything above it into real stereo — so the bass reads wide, but the lows still punch in mono, hold up on a club system, and cut clean to vinyl. Free, for any DAW.
What it does
Two bands. A 24 dB/oct Linkwitz-Riley crossover splits the bass — around 200 Hz by default, anywhere from 80 to 500 Hz on the CROSSOVER knob. Everything below sums to mono and sits dead centre. Everything above runs through a mid/side widener on one knob — WIDTH. The two sum back to a flat response.
The mono low end has no bypass — that's the plugin. (MONO BELOW can tilt it toward stereo if you insist; the default 100% is the point.) Every other widener will happily let you widen sub-bass; Keel ships with that mistake removed. A goniometer and correlation meter are built in, so you can watch the mix translate before you bounce.
